Marion Wolke, a retired veteran, turned 90 Thursday, but her celebration was extra special because of a friend. Over the past few years, she had been talking to Kathy Collins about her Harley motorcycle days. Collins got the idea to surprise her on her 90th birthday with a Harley Davidson vest and painting of a 'Harley Woman'. Wolke was touched by the kindness of those at the Armed Forces Retirement Home and reminisced about her riding days.
Wolke says, “Well, I enjoyed it so much. It’s really wonderful to learn how to ride one and to get with a group of people and ride with them. It’s just a wonderful experience.” Another part of Wolke's gift was to get accepted into the Ladies of Harley, and organization within the Harley Owners group. Wolke still hopes to get one more Harley ride, this time on the back of a friend's motorcycle.
