Many Coast residents did not prepare their vehicles for the bitter cold. Drivers found their batteries dead and anti-freeze run out. So here are a few things to check before getting on the road. Jeff Duncan, a PTW Mechanic, says, “Make sure your anti-freeze is up. Make sure it’s in good condition for the weather we're having. Make sure the tire pressure is up and the tires have good tread. Make sure your battery is good. Check it the night before. And of course, check your windshield wipers.” Another thing to look out for: If the windshield is frozen over, do not pour water on it. The water can cause the windshield to crack. Simply start the vehicle early and let the defroster to do the work.
