With great weather predicted for this weekend, that's good news for all of the events scheduled for this weekend here in south Mississippi, some that were even rained out over the past few weekends. Take your pick. These are just some of the events scheduled for the weekend.
In downtown Gulfport, workers spent the day setting up for Harbor Fest. This pet friendly event was rescheduled after rain washed out the event a few weeks ago. There will be plenty of booths with food and pets up for adoption. Also, the Easter Bunny will be there for photos with kids and pets. The event begins Saturday, April 12th at 9 a.m. and ends at 6 p.m. Admission is free until noon. After that, it's $5 if you're older than 16.
To the west in Pass Christian, they'll be celebrating Blessing of the Fleet, where boats will be venturing out into the water for a blessing in hopes of an abundant harvest this season. The blessing will be Sunday, but the festivities at the harbor begin Saturday at 8 a.m. with the Po-Boy Festival. There will be plenty of kid friendly events, including an Easter egg hunt and a children's village.
Also, you don't have to travel back in time to teach your teenager good manners thanks to a six week program that makes its debut this Saturday at the Ohr O’Keefe Museum in Biloxi at 8 a.m. Teens will be taught good manners, enjoy a four course meal, and will even get to test their footwork on the ballroom dance floor. That wraps up our look at our Social Weekend Calendar.
