News 25 also spoke with Tina Shumate's attorney, Tim Holleman, today. He tells News 25 that, if anything, Walker’s plea should help her case. Tina Shumate and Joe Ziegler Jr. were both indicted with the Walkers back in November. Their trial date is set for June 2nd, but attorneys are hoping that Shumate and Ziegler will be granted separate trials. Holleman tells News 25 that his client has not changed her position in the case, maintaining her innocence. He says they are hoping to hear a decision regarding Shumate's trial soon. Holleman says, "There's a lot less reasons to have them together. Before the Walkers were in both indictments. Now that the Walkers have pled, there’s no reason to have Tina Shumate and Mr. Ziegler tried together. They are totally unconnected to each other." News 25 called Ziegler's attorney, Joe Sam Owen, several times today for a comment, but were not able to reach him.
