Ship Island excursions are resuming daily ferry rides to and from the island this Saturday. The boat dock is located on the west side of the Gulfport Yacht Harbor next to the lighthouse and farmers’ market pavilion. Riders can now enjoy all the public facilities on the island, including food services and restrooms, with showers and changing rooms. You can even bring your own small cooler and fishing pole if you'd like. Captain Louis Skrmetta says, “The boats are in great shape. We went through all the refurbishing we do in the off season. We just got back from the island with the island staff, setting up the island, the beach chair and umbrella rentals, the big blue umbrellas are all set up. Fishing looks good. There was some boats out on the island today catching some red fish around Ship Island.” Ferry rides for adults are $27 and $17 for children.
