U.S. Senator, Roger Wicker, will be joining Senator Thad Cochran on the campaign trail this weekend. Wicker has come out in full support of his fellow senator, crediting him with his relentless efforts to gather funding for the Coast during Hurricane Katrina, and for his commitment to our military and shipbuilding background. Wicker says Senator Cochran is needed in Congress because he is up for a leadership position on the Appropriations Committee, which can help Mississippi get the financial support it needs.
Wicker says, “The fact that he has seniority on the Appropriations Committee, he's in line to become chairman once again of the Appropriations Committee. This is not something he does for Thad Cochran, this is an asset for the people of Mississippi, and I think we're gonna’ take advantage of this good fortune we have.” The Republican primary election is this coming Tuesday on June 3rd.
