Senator Thad Cochran was on the Coast Thursday to meet with local educators as the final push comes for next week's runoff election. The Senator had strong words for his opponent, Chris McDaniel.

Cochran says, "I think the department provides general guidelines that are helpful to a lot of school districts who don't have the resources to have experts and professionals advising at every level, but I don't think we outta turn our school districts over to the federal Department of Education."
