Beginning May 27th, Beach Boulevard between City Park Street and Oliver Street will be closed for up to two weeks while renovations are made to the crosswalk that connects Beach Park to the Promenade.

City Park Street, Oliver Street, 11th Street, and Westwood Street will all provide access between Washington Avenue and Beach Boulevard. The Promenade walkway and the sidewalk adjacent to Beach Park will both remain open to pedestrians. Sections may close in the immediate area of construction.

The top of the crosswalk will be widened and flattened, and the sides will be extended. These renovations will make the crosswalk less steep and more passable for lowered vehicles and motorcycles, while still retaining its accessibility between sidewalks.

Construction dates are contingent upon weather, and barring any other unforeseen circumstances. Any questions or concerns should be directed to the City Engineer at (228) 938.6726.
