Thursday night, News 25 hosted our second annual Search for a Superstar Contest at the Crawfish Music Festival. The competition featured 24 performers from all along the Coast. First, all participants sang, and then all but six were eliminated for the final round. News 25's own reporter, Sarah Duffey, hosted the event all night and last year's Superstar Contest winner was also in attendance. Judges scored each contestant on a scale from 1 to 10 and they say they were looking for more than just a strong voice.

Shanna Babbidge, one of the judges of the contest, says, “Somebody who’s confident in themselves, I mean obviously, I always want to know that there's a good solid voice there, but it’s really selling it at the end of the day. You're selling yourself when you get up there, so that's what I'm looking for.” The winner will receive $1,000 and a trip to Los Angeles to see the American Idol finale. News 25 will announce the winner later tonight.
