S.R.H.S. June Employees of the Month Honored

Singing River Health System (S.R.H.S.) has honored Carla Leasure, Eric James, and Alexanderia Barnes as June Employees of the Month.

Singing River Hospital has honored Carla Leasure, certified pharmacy technician, Inpatient Pharmacy.

Leasure was born in Tacoma, Wash. and raised in Grand Bay, Ala., where she graduated from Grand Bay High School. She received her pharmacy technician diploma from Capps College in 2001. Prior to working at S.R.H.S., Leasure worked at Small Wonders Day Care and Learning Center. She joined the Singing River Health System team in 2001, leaving for a brief stint in 2006 and returned in September 2008.

Leasure currently lives in Grand Bay, Ala. with her husband, Rick Leasure. They have three children, Haley “Mariah” Leasure, Richard E. Leasure III and Kyler Raiden Leasure. When not working, Leasure enjoys spending time with family and friends. She loves to watch football and is a big Alabama fan. She enjoys doing anything that involves being outside.

Leasure said she enjoys working for S.R.H.S. because she feels she works for the best. “I am proud to say I work for the best. We have the best physicians, nurses, pharmacists and staff here,” said Leasure. She specifically enjoys working in the pharmacy because of how well the department’s employees work together and always look out for one another.

Leasure strives to give world-class service to patients by doing everything she can to assist the pharmacists, physicians and nurses to make their job more efficient and effective for the patient. Patient care and overall satisfaction is her number one concern.

Ocean Springs Hospital has honored Eric James, registered nurse, Medical Intensive Care Unit.

James joined Singing River Health System in January 2012. He began working as a registered nurse on 1 NE and later transferred to his current position in the Medical Intensive Care Unit in March 2014.

The Outlying Facilities have honored Alexandria Barnes, licensed practical nurse, The Clinic at Walmart.

Barnes was born and raised in Pascagoula, Miss. where she graduated from Pascagoula High School. She received her associate’s degree and certificate for LPN at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Gautier. Prior to working for S.R.H.S., Barnes worked for three and a half years at River Chase Village. She joined the Singing River Health System team in October 2012.

Barnes currently lives in Pascagoula, Miss. with her husband, Brain Barnes, Sr. She has three children, Kiara Baker, Ar Brian Barnes and Brian Barnes, Jr. When not working, she enjoys family time, watching movies, bowling and shopping.

Barnes said she appreciates working for S.R.H.S. because she enjoys the teamwork and company of her fellow employees and feels it is always a joy to come to work.

Barnes strives to deliver world-class care by always encouraging and educating her patients. She treats each patient as if they were part of her own family and gives them the best care possible.
