Tuesday, Singing River Health System (S.R.H.S.) announced it will be closing two more clinics in Gautier and D'Iberville. Two weeks ago, Singing River announced it was closing its Medworks clinic in Pascagoula.

Now, all three of these clinics will be closed by the end of August. In all closures, most employees were relocated to other positions, and most patients moved to another health care provider. While it was a tough decision, Singing River C.E.O., Kevin Holland, says it will be best of the entire system.

Holland says, “The timing was right for us to go ahead and consolidate a few of our primary care locations, and we made a decision to close the Gautier and D'Iberville clinic locations primarily due to their proximity to other primary care locations that we have.”

Declining federal funds for patients means Singing River needs to maximize every dollar to best serve its patients. Holland is hoping for a smooth transition for Singing River employees and patients.
