A state authority visiting the Coast is impressed with southern Mississippi's economic development. Brent Christensen of the Mississippi Development Authority was the keynote speaker kicking off the Jackson County Industrial Trade Show in Pascagoula. Christensen says that the Coast is booming, and that the entire state benefits as a result. Christensen says, “I think you’re seeing some significant opportunities and significant examples that the Coast is definitely back: a new baseball stadium in Biloxi, an awful lot of casino renovation that’s going on, industries expanding, from shipbuilding industries, to the Port of Gulfport, and all points in between, so there are significant signs that the Coast economy continues to improve.” Christensen says that even though both Ingalls and chevron are currently turning over leadership, he feels confident that those powerhouse industries are continuing to create stellar leaders.
