Over the past couple of months, our military has been aiding in humanitarian crises in foreign countries and even at home in Missouri.

U.S. Congressman, Steven Palazzo, spent his day on the Coast and while visiting with the State Treasurer, News 25 asked the congressman to give his thoughts on military funding and the National Guard.

Palazzo replies, "Our principles and our values and our beliefs, we've been leading that effort and we need to make sure we're committed to peace through strength. That’s the best policy. It keeps you from having to go to war, it keeps you from having to commit our young men and women in a hostile situation, so I'm hoping the Congress and this President will continue making this investment in our men and women in uniform and their equipment so they can come home safely."

News 25 asked the congressman about his thoughts on the situation in Ferguson, Missouri. He did not want to comment at this time.
