Bob Tway and Willie Wood will help out beside volunteers from University of Connecticut on a rehab project at 931 Cleveland Ave. Gulfport, MS on Thursday, March 20th.
The home is owned by Willempje Engle. Engle lives alone in her Gulfport home. Her late husband, Air Force veteran, worked on the home and was unable to finish the project.
Habitat volunteers from University of Connecticut will also be assisting on the repair work at the home as part of Collegiate Challenge, a Habitat alternative spring break program.
The scope of the project includes completing a back addition by adding windows, siding, painting and some finishing work as this space will be used for storage. Additionally, Habitat will perform weatherization efforts including caulking, weather stripping and insulation. The project is funded through a grant from the Home Depot Foundation.
