New Gulf Coast Surgery Center has received accreditation by The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Surgery Centers (AAAHC). The center received 100% compliance in all chapters with no recommendations for corrections.
“We are unconditionally accredited through January 31, 2017. A tremendous amount of work goes into survey efforts to make sure that we comply with not only the standards of our accrediting board, but also the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), Occupational Safety & Healthcare Administration (OSHA), Association for Professionals in Infection Control (APIC) and the Association of Peri Operative Registered Nurses (AORN),” said Donna Griggs, Chief Nursing Officer. (AAAHC) is a private, non-profit organization who is the leader in developing standards to advance and promote patient safety, quality care, and value for ambulatory health care through peer-based accreditation processes, education, and research. A certificate of accreditation is awarded to organizations that are found to be in compliance with AAAHC Standards.
AAAHC currently accredits more than 5,000 organizations in a wide variety of ambulatory health care settings including ambulatory surgery centers, community health centers, medical and dental group practices, medical home practices, and managed care organizations.
