Moss Point Police arrested a Delaware fugitive Friday morning on the corner of Palmetto and Jackson Street. Moss Point Police say they received a tip late Thursday night about a suspect from Delaware hiding out in a family member's home. After researching for the suspect, police entered the home around 9:00 a.m. Friday morning. They found Timothy Safford hiding in an attic and arrested him. Moss Point Police do not know the full extent of the crimes Safford committed back in Dover, Delaware, but they do know they include kidnapping, aggravated assault, and home invasion.

Chief Keith Davis of the Moss Point Police Department says, “I'm so proud of our community today that we actually had someone to call in and alert us that this dangerous person was in our community. From day one we've talked about the police department and the community working together and certainly that showed through yesterday when this person called in to tell us about this information.” Moss Point is in contact with Dover police as to the details of transporting Safford back to Delaware where he will be tried. He is being held at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center until then.
