Monday, the City of Moss Point moved into phase one of its turning lane project. Medians put up in 2011 have created an inconvenience for businesses along Main Street. Last week, the city announced the launch of a construction project to put three turning lanes along the stretch to provide better access for Moss Point commuters.

Tim Miles, the Project Manager, with GT Development, says, “The first phase, we have to get all the signage in place for the traffic control. It’s pretty detailed with this being a state highway, to try to keep the inconvenience to a minimum. It will certainly make traveling through town and getting to the businesses a lot easier than what it is now.” The turning lane project is expected to take three hours.
