Mississippi Power has deployed a storm team of 101 personnel for winter storm restoration in Georgia. The crews are stationed about 75 miles southeast of Atlanta, where the majority of the outage reports include broken poles and tree limbs on power lines. Keith Guillot with Mississippi Power says, “The utility industry is very much a brotherhood. It’s something we experienced here on the Gulf with Katrina and most recently with Isaac. We called in additional crews to deal with that recovery. It’s nice to pass on that experience we have with storms with other people across the country and help them recover as quickly and safely as possible.” Mississippi Power crews will be working in Georgia for the next week.
