Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College is preparing students for this in-demand field. The school recently opened a Hospitality and Resort Management Center, a project ten years in the works with a price tag of ten million dollars. For now, the center serves as a location for conferences, training sessions, and special events, but the school hopes to see more happening there in the future. Christen Duhe, Director of the Business Development & Hospitality Management Center, says, “We really want to do a lot more partnerships with economic drivers on the Coast. We hope for the future that we're developing the students in a workforce to really support our area.” All of the money made from renting out the rooms goes back to the college.
