U.S. Senate hopeful, Chris McDaniel, was in Ocean Springs Tuesday night for a fundraising event. The state senator has travelled over 1,000 miles since Sunday, raising money in his campaign against Senator Thad Cochran. According to influenceexplorer.com, Cochran has raised one and a half times as much money as McDaniel. At the same time, McDaniel has spent one and half times more on his campaign. McDaniel says, “Well I don't know how much he's going to out fund us, but when you have all the support of the Washington insiders and all the Washington lobbyists giving you money, you're going to raise some money. What we're going to do is raise the votes of Mississippi voters. We're going to have the support of the people of Mississippi. We won't raise as much money, but we will raise more votes, and that's the most important thing.” Wednesday, McDaniel continues his campaign as he travels to Hattiesburg to speak with supporters at the University of Southern Mississippi.
