Those interested in nominating an individual, organization or business for the upcoming Volunteer Recognition Ceremony have until Thursday to turn in forms.
All nominees and winners will be recognized on Tuesday, April 22nd, when the city holds the 31st Annual Volunteer Recognition Ceremony at the Biloxi Civic Center.
If you are interested in making a nomination, you can pick up a nominee form at the Downtown Services Office- 932 Howard Ave., or print one from the city web site by clicking here.
Be sure to write a complete narrative and include a picture of your nominee volunteering. Nominations that are not complete will not be considered.
Forms must be returned to the Downtown Events Office by Thursday, April 10th. Nominations will be reviewed and winners selected by a committee of Biloxi citizens. Everyone nominated will be recognized with a certificate of achievement.
Invitations will be sent to all nominators and nominees. Special awards will be presented to individuals for outstanding volunteer of the year in these categories: health, community, arts and history, education, military, non profit organization, youth, sports, and adult & youth volunteer groups with one overall winner selected as Distinguished Volunteer of the Year. Awards will also be presented to organizations and businesses for their community service.
