With all the events happening on the Coast in conjunction with road closures, traffic this weekend is bound to be a nightmare. Beginning on Satruday at 7 p.m., I-110 will be closed. The road will reopen at approximately 9 a.m. on Sunday, June 22nd. Since this weekend will be attracting a lot of traffic regardless, both Harrison County officials and M.D.O.T. officials are encouraging people to use alternate routes.

Windy Swetman, Harrison County District 1 Supervisor, says, “So if you're coming to Biloxi, you're coming south on I-110. We encourage the motoring public to do so prior to 7 p.m. and to expect long delays after the Darius Rucker concert and trying to get back north from Highway 90 in Biloxi and Gulfport Saturday night.”

Michael Flood, an M.D.O.T. Public Information Officer, says, “As far as Highway 90 goes, there will be some congestion on Highway 90, but we have detours in place. Motorists can use Highway 605 or 609 from I-10 to get out of it.” M.D.O.T. has been working to do as much as they can the minimize traffic. Message boards will be placed at key locations to reroute traffic.
