The 66th Mississippi Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo is continuing to draw a major crowd this holiday weekend in Gulfport. This is the second straight year the city has hosted the event that claims to be the largest fishing rodeo, with 22 saltwater and five freshwater divisions.

The rodeo has drawn in some major crowds this year. Weigh master of the event, Mark Wright, says as long as the weather holds, this year’s rodeo could be one of the largest seen.

Wright says, "It's been pretty good. Started off with a crowd lined up outside the gate today and it’s been steadily increasing. I think with the rest of today, with these crowd numbers growing and growing with the 4th of July weekend and if the weather holds, we are going to see thousands and thousands of people here."

Admission is $5 per day or $10 for the entire weekend.
