Chief Clarence Parks of the Moss Point Fire Department has been invited to the "World Series" of the Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge. Since 2007, Chief Parks has competed in the worldwide challenge that tests skills used on the fire-grounds every day. Parks was awarded Rookie of the Year Award in 2008 and has been training for weeks. Parks says, "It's even more competitive because I'm after a goal. At one time, I was the state champion. Of course there are some younger firefighters that are shooting for that. Everything that we do on the course simulates what we do in real life. So that's why we take it so to heart, to make sure that we know how to do our job." We wish Chief Parks luck as he competes for the Chief Division title this week.
