Hurricane Hunter Lt. Col. Jeffery Ragusa will be at Harper McCaughan Elementary from 9 a.m. - 10-10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 7th visiting Barbara Balyeat's fourth grade classroom.

"We have been studying weather for the last three weeks," Balyeat said. "The Hurricane Hunters bring our study to life. Although most of my students were two when Katrina hit, some do remember the event. One of the parents told me her daughter said she can remember things flying off the walls at their house. I happened to mention how they retire names of severe hurricanes, like Katrina and Camille. Several of my students did not know about Camille."

This visit from the Hurricane Hunters is unique because they do not normally come to the Long Beach schools, according to Balyeat.

"We are very excited to have this opportunity for our students."
