While the skies are calm in north Mississippi, people there are still reeling from last week's deadly tornado and storm damage. Employees at Biloxi's Hard Rock Hotel and Casino have made sure these storm victims haven't been forgotten. Ripped jeans and denim are not an unusual sight at Hard Rocks across the nation, but these employees are paying to wear jeans to work. The jeans for a cause campaign that just recently launched. Employees can pay $5 a day to wear jeans. Proceeds will go to help storm victims.
Maria Johnson, the Director of Human Resources at the Hard Rock, says, “The Hard Rock's Community Foundation Fund, Rocking the Coast, will match any amount up to $2,500, so we can give back as they have given to us in the past. Usually we raise $2,000 - $2,500 a week just to wear jeans. No employee likes to wear uniforms every day of the week.” The fundraiser will continue until the end of the week.
