Today, the Mayor of Moss Point, Billy Broomfield, announced that 100 well-behaved students in middle and high school will receive donated tickets to Friday's game on ‘Moss Point Night’, which will also feature a matchup between F.S.U. and Tulane. The school district and the city each sold 50 tickets that will be given to students recognized for success in school. The Mayor also announced that all of the proceeds will go directly to the school district. Mayor Broomfield says, “The Moss Point School District, when I asked them about this opportunity, they didn't hesitate, and when we went to the Moss Point Middle School, we found that there were more young people that knew about hockey than we thought and appreciated hockey.” The Surge already has a relationship with Moss Point. Players continue to make visits to the schools to talk about bullying and health.
