Dogs on Deployment also promotes responsible, life-long pet ownership by military pet owners by advocating for military pet owner rights, providing educational resources and granting financial assistance for military pet owners during times of emergency.
In order to promote responsible pet ownership in the military, Dogs on Deployment is holding their annual Military Pet of the Year photo competition to find a new mascot for 2014. The top three finalists will be awarded prizes to celebrate their service and pet ownership from various sponsors. If interested in sponsoring the competition, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Bram, the current mascot, is a four-year-old Rottweiler. He serves as an ambassador for his breed and is a shining example of responsible pet ownership. Bram participates in local Dog Bite Prevention presentations in Missouri as well as various obedience events. The hopes of Dogs on Deployment is to find another military pet owner as exemplary as United States Air Force Master Sergeant Jonathan and Mrs. Michelle Sarabia and their beloved Bram.
