The sun came out for a little while today, causing some of the ice on the roads to melt, but as the night continues to get colder, that melted ice will re-freeze in various places. Harrison County Emergency Manager, Rupert Lacy, says monitoring the new forming ice will be tonight’s biggest challenge. Lacy says, “As we go into the evening hours, that water is going to become ice again and motorists traveling, you may have experienced that ice, that black ice here. This evening it could be over here because of the shift of the water.” Public works crews will clean up the roads after tonight’s freeze.
