The clock is ticking for the completion of the Biloxi baseball stadium. The new stadium is scheduled to be completed by next April. The construction recently was delayed, so the city can bid out on a new contract for the completion of the stadium. Wednesday afternoon, News 25 spoke by phone with Southern League President, Lori Webb, and asked her if she was concerned about the recent construction delay here in Biloxi.

Webb says, “We are mildly concerned at this point. The team isn’t scheduled to have their opening day until April 20th of next year, so I believe they’ll find a way to get the ballpark completed by that date. As often happens with new stadiums, not everything will be done by the time they throw the first pitch, but it’s been our experience that we’ve never had a ballpark open late. We do not have a backup plan in place as far as have we gone to any other institutions and asked if we can play there, no we haven’t. I think we’re going to wait and see what this rebid process turns out here.”
