A town hall meeting was called Wednesday in Moss Point so that residents could let their concerns be known. Dozens of Ward 1 and Ward 5 citizens were on hand at the Pelican Landing Community Center in Moss Point as city officials advised them of proposed plans before opening up the floor for concerns.
Many residents voiced their opinions about the many pot holes in the city's roads, as well as lack of landscaping on city property. Several citizens felt that the city wasn't doing enough and that their problems were falling on deaf ears. Ward 5 Alderman, Wayne Lennep, feels that this meeting was a success and that other wards may follow suit.
Lennep says, "We're actually wanting to do something for our individual wards, for the people to come out and express their concerns, get a few answers. Obviously we know we can't solve everyone's problems tonight, but we want to hear their concerns, let them know we care, and know that we are just as frustrated as they are, and also share some of the positive things that are here, that maybe they don't know about."
Moss Point city officials know that improvements need to be made and promise to help the city reach its full potential.
