Celebrity Chef Kelly English’s Magnolia House Will Bring Louisiana Flavor to the Gulf Coast

Southern charm, classic dishes with a contemporary twist and a comfortable dining atmosphere - that’s what guests will experience when celebrity Chef Kelly English’s third restaurant, Magnolia House, opens at the future Harrah’s Gulf Coast this spring. Magnolia House will elevate the standard for comfortable, fine dining and be one of the many new amenities guests will enjoy when Grand Biloxi Casino, Hotel and Spa transforms to Harrah’s Gulf Coast this summer.

The James Beard Award semifinalist and Best New Chef named by Food & Wine Magazine, Chef English will continue his passion for crafting dishes rich in Southern flair with the creation of Magnolia House. This fine dining restaurant will build upon traditional Southern hospitality while raising the bar in the regional culinary scene.

Magnolia House will celebrate the cuisine of the Gulf Coast region by focusing on fresh seafood and deep-rooted food traditions. The restaurant will feature some of Chef English’s signature items such as his surf and turf stuffed with gulf oysters as well as new dishes. He will utilize the best products Mississippi has to offer, from shrimp to catfish to okra. Magnolia House intends to honor the comfortable sophistication that the Gulf Coast is known for in a refined but casual environment.

Joining Chef English’s acclaimed eateries, Restaurant Iris and The Second Line in Memphis, Chef English will bring his passion for using fresh and local ingredients and flavors from his Southern Louisiana childhood to this exclusive concept located inside the resort. Currently under construction, the renovated space will emulate a classic Southern home. As guests enter the foyer of the restaurant from the front porch, they will select their choice of dining space including the living room, the wine cellar, the bar or the sun porch.

“Our goal was to create a restaurant that would offer a luxurious dining experience with great food and remarkable service that guests would remember,” said Chef English. “I couldn’t be more excited that my first restaurant in Mississippi will be at the new Harrah’s Gulf Coast. The renovated resort is the perfect location to debut Magnolia House.”

The new restaurant is among many improvements coming to the resort this spring. The new Harrah’s resort will build upon the great foundation of the Grand Biloxi offering new amenities and experiences for the resort’s guests including a redesign of the casino floor, hotel room upgrades and additional hospitality amenities.

“The energy and exciting menu options of Magnolia House are the perfect complement to our renovated resort,” said Jonathan Jones, senior vice president and general manager of Grand Biloxi Casino, Hotel and Spa. “The team at Grand Biloxi couldn’t be more excited to welcome Kelly to our family as we transition into Harrah’s Gulf Coast.”

Magnolia House is just one of the many features of the new Harrah’s Gulf Coast that will attract visitors from all around the country to the Gulf Coast region.
