CLIMB C.D.C. & Its Partners Announce the Gulfport Ports of Call Food, Music, & Art Festival

CLIMB Community Development Corporation (CLIMB C.D.C.) is partnering with the Port of Gulfport and Gulfport Main Street to sponsor the Ports of Call Food, Music, & Art Festival, to be held on Thursday, May 22nd from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Cafe Climb in Gulfport.

The event will offer tastings and beverages from over 25 restaurants and will feature the vibrant music of Bleau Orleans and vocalist, Jesse Hill. Proceeds from this fundraising event will be used to support CLIMB C.D.C.'s job training programs for disadvantaged youth. Tickets may be purchased online at or by calling (228) 864-6677 during business hours.

Food and beverage providers include: Aramark, Alcove Eatery, Bacchus Food & Drink, Beach Blvd. Steamer, Chappy's Bistro, Chateau Blessey, Chimneys, Coast Candymakers, Coast Coca Cola, El Agave, Edible Creations, Elaine's Martini Bar, Flyin' Jalapeno, Gelato Della Costa, Great Southern Club, Half Shell, Honey Baked Ham, Juan Tequila's Mosaic Tapas Restaurant, Murky Waters BBQ, O'Sherman's Pub, Phoenicia Gourmet Dining, Tony's Pizzeria, & Rex Distributing.

"This is an excellent opportunity for the community to enjoy great food while supporting CLIMB C.D.C.'s workforce training programs for at-risk youth," commented Lori West, CLIMB C.D.C. C.E.O. "The event also marks the opening of our new Public Event Space that can accommodate up to 400 guests for business or social gatherings."

The event will feature an outdoor Italian grotto and food from other regional and international cuisines, including the Port Of Latin American, the Port of Gulf Seafood, the Port of All Nations, and the Port of Soul. Adjacent to the grotto, local artists will dis-play their works for viewing and purchase.

"The Ports of Call event represents our connection between commerce and the community," commented Jonathan Daniels, Executive Director and C.E.O. of the Port of Gulfport. "Our support of this event and CLIMB C.D.C.'s youth programs also underscores our commitment to the local community, including the creation of jobs for low-to-moderate income families."

CLIMB Community Development Corporation is a charitable, non-profit organization that fosters human development through integrating practical workforce training, livable wage employment opportunities, and sustainable housing solutions. Their mission is to promote strong communities by providing their target population of "at risk/opportunity" young adults 16 to 26 years of age with access to opportunities that inspire self-reliance. Core programs include: YouthBuild, Workforce Training Institute, Women's Business Center, and Cafe Climb.
