The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce Facade Grant Program is open to the business community. The program was developed to encourage existing property owners and long-term tenants to upgrade the facades of buildings facing public streets. Myra Howard is a manager at Chocolates and More in downtown Pascagoula. She says they didn't get the grant last year, but are hoping to receive it this time around. Howard says, "We applied last year with the chamber for a grant to do a sign for our store front, which we didn't get, but several other businesses got it and it helped downtown Pascagoula, so there is another grant available for businesses that we're applying for again for a new awning." The deadline to apply for the grant is January 23rd.
