Friday night's Mario concert was set to kick off Black Spring Break, but when spring breakers arrived in Biloxi, there was no concert to be found. The concert was scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday night at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. When News 25 arrived on scene at about 7:30 p.m., the parking lot was practically empty. According to Chris Spears, the Public Affairs Officer for the Coliseum, due to low attendance, the concert was moved to the Illusion 2 Nightclub in Gulfport. The start time was also pushed back to 9 p.m.
News 25 went to that location, but there was no visible sign of a concert scheduled. News 25 finally caught up with some out-of-town spring breakers, who say they hope their first day of vacation gets better soon. A spring breaker from out of town says, “See, what I’m hearing now is people saying go to Club Envy, but I don’t know. There was a guy yelling down the street go to Club Envy. All I know is Lil’ Boosie is gonna’ be here. There needs to be something better than there is. It’s dead out here. For real, we came all the way from Tylertown, Mississippi. It’s dead out here man." Saturday's full list of events at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum is still on schedule.
