The Beau Rivage presented checks to three local charities Wednesday. The money was raised from the 2014 Regional Food Fight between the Beau Rivage, Gold Strike Casino, and Grand Detroit. The food fight was created to help replenish food pantries such as The Lord is My Help, Loaves and Fishes, and Feed My Sheep. The three charities picked up van-loads of food donations early last month, and Wednesday, they each received over $3,000.

Wayne Elias, the Director of Feed My Sheep, says, “It means a lot to us because we serve so many people. Last year, we served 177,000 people and it’s just a blessing to have the money and the food drive. It keeps us going every day.” Feed My Sheep says they will use the check to buy specific foods that are needed at their food pantry.
