The Mississippi Hospitality and Restaurant Association is encouraging Gulf Coast restaurants to participate in a seafood promotion. The association is creating a Seafood Trail. This year’s slogan is “a summer of seafood.” Participating restaurants will feature dishes with seafood caught right here in the Gulf. The restaurants will be featured in advertising and websites that will lead customers to seek out a variety of seafood dishes.

Brynn Joachim of the Focus Group Marketing Agency says, “We're basically building an attraction. When visitors come here, they will have a map of restaurants that specialize in Gulf seafood, which is what we're trying to stress, and we know they will get the best kind of meal at those restaurants, and almost make it like an adventure, where they’re stopping at multiple places from state line to state line.” Restaurants have until May 15th to sign up for the promotion. The Mississippi Seafood Trail will begin on the first day of summer, June 21st.
