Fair weather will exist Thursday and somewhat Friday with warmer than average temperatures in the mid and upper 80's. Some passing clouds, but more sunshine is expected to heat things up and create a muggy afternoon. A light east/southeasterly breeze may help with the afternoon heat. There is just a slight chance of rain showers today, increasing into our weekend.

All eyes are on the tropics as an area of low pressure located in the northwestern Caribbean is expected to move into the southern Gulf of Mexico later today. An upgrade to tropical storm status is expected and Karen is the next named storm on the list for 2013. The storm track and intensity is unknown at this point, but the 53rd WRS is expected to continue it's operations collecting data.
