Today: Slight rain chances later today around 20% with a mix of clouds and sun. Calm to light wind speeds from the north around 5 mph. High temperatures near 58º for just about everybody.
: A mostly cloudy night expected with any (light) rain showers ending early. Low temperatures near the 41º mark because of a weak cold front that will pass through the region today. Extra cloud coverage could actually keep our lows warmer, so mid 40's will be my alternate low temp forecast.
Tuesday: That weak cold front that will have passed through Monday will allow a bit more sunshine for the final day of 2013, but with cooler temperatures. Highs on Tuesday in the low 50's. During New Year's Eve (low near 42º), clouds and rain chances will be on the increase as two approaching storm system line up heavier rain showers and colder temperatures for the first days of 2014.
Midweek: Another low pressure system developing in the western portions of the Gulf of Mexico will track toward South Mississippi for a round of heavy rain showers Wed. & Thurs. As if that weren't enough weather for the week... a separate low pressure system will be developing east of Colorado and the cold front associated with it will develop serious temperature drops for our region. Low temperatures as a result will fall to the very cold 30º mark or less. High temps for Thursday will be 62º in Gulfport and after the cold front passes through the high temperature on Friday will be 45º.
End of the Week: Once the rain exits on Thursday, a few days of sunshine will help dry and clear things up briefly. Friday and Saturday look to be the brightest days of this week with a sunny to mostly sunny forecast and temps ranging from the mid 40's to the mid 50's. Another round of rain could develop for the beginning of next week.
