Today: A mostly cloudy morning will give way to a partly cloudy and clearing afternoon and evening. Rain showers will be limited to the morning hours as the last band of showers continue to move out of the region. High temperatures will be below the average by almost ten degrees (61º is the norm). Gulfport should not get much better than 55º today and these below average temperatures will remain into next weekend. Wind speeds will continue to breeze around the 15 mph zone.
Tonight: Under a mostly clear to totally clear sky, temperatures will drop to near freezing with lows settling around the mid and low 30's. 34º for Gulfport with colder lows further inland. Wind speeds will continue in from the north, breezy at 10-15 mph.
Through Christmas: Near freezing low temperatures along the coast and below freezing temps further to the north. Highs during the day will be slowly increasing through the 50 degree range under a clear to mostly clear sky. The wind speed and direction will also slowly change, but still influence our overall cold outlook. A high pressure system will be moving in from the west and this typically establishes our weather for a dry, clear and cold pattern.
End of the week: A reinforcing shot of cold air will crash in from the north late Thursday with a dry cold front. The winds will pick up again and low temperatures will return to those freezing levels. High temperatures during the days into next weekend will slowly return to normal readings in the low 60's and a few extra clouds will present themselves around the new year.
