Ohr-O'Keefe Art Classes Registration Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art Classes January-March 2008 Winter Quarter—Stil time to register! Please note: there is a discount for museum members. The class sessions were scheduled to begin the week of January 7—BUT because of the holidays, the starting date on most classes will be the week of January 14. Monday Beginning/Intermediate Pottery classes with instructor Charles Comstock – 10 wks Students will learn principles of centering, throwing, glazing, and firing pottery. Students will create 10-15 pieces in 10 weeks session. Times: 1:30 – 3:30 pm Fee: $200 for session. Includes 25lbs of clay, glazes, and firing. Pre-registration required. Hand Building with instructor Laurie Gaethe - 10wks Students will learn to create ceramic art using hand building techniques including slab, coil, and pinch work. Students will create 7-10 pieces per session. Times: 6 - 8 pm Fee: $ 200 for session. Includes 25lbs of clay, glazes, and firing. Pre-registration required. Art Scouts with Instructor Anne Kotleba – Ongoing A comprehensive study of art and theory for children 13 to 18 years of age. Students will learn about a different artist every week through lecture for ½ hour followed by a related activity. The students will broaden their artistic horizons during this wonderfully entertaining and creative class. Times: 6:30– 8:00 pm Fee: $100 for 12 weeks, $50 for 5 weeks, or $15 per week with 24 hours notice. Pre-registration required. Thursdays Altered Book class with Instructor Erin Boudreax Times: 5:30 – 7:30 Students will learn an art form in which existing books are reworked into works of art, often changing the book in a variety of ways. Altered books usually possess a unified theme or idea throughout the entire book. Fees: $30 for a 3 week series or $15 per week with 24 hours notice. Pre-registration required. Saturdays Adult Art Club with Instructor Morgan Hartman - Ongoing Members will meet once a month and discuss various artists, techniques, and movements. Discussions will include slideshows, demonstrations, and gallery shows. Time: 12:00 pm Fee: Free for Members; $5 for non-members. Pre-registration required. Monster Motor Nationals Monster Truck Show MONSTER TRUCK TICKETS ON SALE Hattiesburg, Mississippi – The Monster Motor Nationals Monster Truck Show explodes into Hattiesburg for a three-day show that will feature raw horsepower. January 11-13, 2008, brings the return of the annual Monster Truck Show to the JL Cartlidge Forrest County Multi Purpose Center. Monster truck racing has slowly become one of the fastest growing spectator sports in America. The show’s popularity has made it a mainstay at the Forrest County Multi Purpose Center since the facility opened in 1999. Tickets are on sale now at the Forrest County Multi Purpose Center’s Box Office, TJ’s Western Ware and all Mac’s Mini Mart Stores. All advance tickets for Friday and Saturday are $12.00. Sunday advance tickets are $12.00 adults and $6.00 children. Tickets at the door will be $15.00 adults and $12.00 children. Action gets under way Friday and Saturday night at 8:00 pm and Sunday at 2:00 pm.
